1. Offer a no-brainer

Several years ago Service — a company whose business was to take upon itself a boring paperwork no one wants to fill in in order to get compensation when the flight is delayed — decided to run a Facebook ads campaign. But do you really want to tell your customers something as unsexy as “We will fill your paperwork for you?”

Instead, Service came up with the ad that said “Do you know that airlines owe you money every time your flight is delayed and you can get it NOW?” Literally, the company offered money as a giveaway and put it in the centre of it’s messaging.

Service got a crazy KPI with this ad. The CPC was close to $0.

Another classic example — Honey. A chrome extension that lets you see the deals and discounts on the products you’re about to buy. This is an extremely valuable offer for the user: save money on purchases by getting instant access to available discounts.

Actually, Honey addresses two aspects of a no-brainer deal. First — offer valuable giveaways. And second — make the deal frictionless. Meaning, onboarding is so easy for a customer — just one click and you get it. That is a second reason why Honey grows so fast — because it is distributed in the form of Chrome extension.
