Social media marketing dilemma: copy-paste or not. Part 1

All social media platforms are different. But does it make sense to come up with different branded content for every media?

You’ve heard that social media marketing is essential for business. So you have created branded pages (that is, your company pages) on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Now, the question is: do you copy paste and publish the same stuff on all three?

I ran a small poll on Twitter and most founders agreed that it’s very important to have a branded page. When I asked, if they need it for reference (you know, when you post something you can tag your business page and users might check out the profile and click to the website link) 100% of respondents said “No”. Founders and small business owners are certain: hey need the branded profile on social media not only to refer to it from time to time in their posts but also to “spread the word”: post something on its behalf weekly or better daily.

“It’s a part of the branding strategy” — they say.

Let’s presume it is. But the question remains: what would you post on your business account page? Again, a poll on Twitter revealed that

  • 80% believe that the content should be educational or deal with the product…
